Feels like forever since I posted. Just sort of got away from it for a while.
Early this morning I was listening to CBC radio interview an artist who has a first time solo exhibit at St. Paul’s Anglican church in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The artist’s name is Peggy Toole. She is 84 years old! She has shown her art before but never in a solo context.
I think sometimes that the best years are behind me. Not in a depressed kind of way…well, sometimes in a depressed kind of way! Then you hear about a lady who is 84 and still rockin’ her art. She has no plans to stop soon.
So if you feel like throwing in the towel sometimes, then …don’t! Just give it a rest and go absorb some new inspiration. Hey even towels get a break. They have to be washed and dried and ready for re-use.
The above painting is called Sun Grass ( I think that’s what I named it, ha!) It’s actually an early morning scene- like you have the whole day ahead of you- and not a sunset. Maybe that’s the best way to look at life if we can.
Thanks for stoppin’ in and droppin’ by ( I’m being tough on the letter ‘g’ today). See ya next time!
* In case it’s driving you crazy- The Title is taken from Disney’s white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.
Love it…
Thanks Marcia!
There is a lovely flow and subtle movement in this painting. Terrific!
Thank you! I was actually trying to ‘work faster’ instead of my usual ‘sweating the details’ approach. Thanks.
